HUTCHINSON,Kan. (March 6, 2014) – Superior Boiler Works Inc. announced today that its high-efficiency Creek condensing boilers have received UL approval. The certification indicates that the Creek boilers meet stringent product safety and efficiency standards, as set by the Department of Energy, through testing performed and verified by UL as an authorized third party.
Superior, manufacturer of boilers and ancillary boiler room equipment for more than 60 years, offers its Creek ST boilers as a complete package. These products, with tailored options available to meet specific applications, are a joint effort between Superior Boiler and its condensing boiler partner, ICI Caldaie, an Italian company.

For our customers, the certification increases the peace of mind they’ve already grown accustomed to with Superior Boiler products."
Power-Flame continues to expand its' position in the large industrial boiler marketplace with the introduction of our CSB series of ultra low NOx gas burners. They utilize the same fiber matrix element as our Nova Plus burners, but deliver the combustion air through a forced draft fan and windbox arrangement commonly found on large water tube boilers.
The number of these installations operating, and the ease of set-up have started to make these burners the preferred ultra low NOx choice by a number of boiler OEMs. The CSB burners do not require flue gas recirculation or staged combustion to achieve single digit NOx emissions.
The burner utilizes 100% premix combustion to achieve sub 9 PPM NOx and less than 50 PPM CO. The simplistic design of the CSB burner enables us to control combustion through the use of a parallel positioning system with O2 trim. We can furnish microprocessor based control systems designed by Siemens, Fireye or Auto Flame; or our Director SCS-PLC Allen-Bradley based PLC system with touch screen display, VFD control and first out annunciation. Main gas trains can include Maxon, Siemens or Asco safety shut-off valves and Fisher pneumatic control valves.
More recently, we started offering flanged and welded construction on our 3" and 4" main gas trains. The modular concept that is the basis for all Power-Flame burners keeps the initial investment low and maintenance costs at a minimum across the life of the burner.
